Gitter is now free for teams of up to 25

At Gitter, we're trying to build the best communication platform for technical teams and communities on GitHub. In this spirit, as we announced last week, today Gitter is now free for teams of up to 25.

Our free plan now includes:

  • Unlimited chat history
  • Unlimited public rooms
  • Unlimited private rooms
  • Unlimited integrations

Any organisation or private room owned by an organisation on now has a maximum limit of 25 people, if you want to add more people to the room, our Pro Plan costs just $5 per user per month with no up-front annual payment.

Our Personal Plan has now been retired and all personal plans have been cancelled. Everything that was previously available on the Personal Plan is now free, including unlimited private rooms owned by your personal account.

Any existing Bronze or Silver plans will have the same features as our Pro Plan, but will continue to be charged at your previous subscription rate. If you wish to cancel your existing plan, please you can do so here.

We hope that these changes will help smaller teams get the best out of Gitter without the previous chat history and private room limits.

It's also worth mentioning, any free open source or educational organisations on GitHub are also welcome to contact us for free discount codes.
